Environmental Field Technician

5 Microns needs an Asbestos and mold Environmental Field Technician to join our 5 Microns team. This position involves on-site inspections and monitoring in Washington State, with an additional available position in Miami, FL. Studies in science-related fields or construction are a plus for this position. The position will consist of fieldwork and office work at our Seattle, WA, and Miami, FL, offices.

Duties may include:

  • Performing on-site asbestos, mold, and other regulated materials investigations
  • Indoor air quality investigations
  • Industrial hygiene testing
  • General proposal and report writing
  • Be available for work with flexible hours
  • Use of Windows/Microsoft Office to perform duties

Required Qualifications:

  • No experience required
  • Asbestos AHERA
  • Lead Renovator
  • Ability to travel
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid State issued drivers license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 40-hour HAZWOPER
  • AHERA Inspector–required
  • Job Type: Part-Time, Full-Time, Temporary
  • Previous work in the construction industry is a plus

Administrative Assistant

Weโ€™re hiring an administrative and marketing assistant to work from our office in Seattle, WA, with an additional position available in our Miami, FL, office. Youโ€™ll help with client communication, scheduling, invoicing, and light marketing tasks. Flexible scheduling is available within regular business hours.

Responsibilities:

Administrative Tasks:

  • Answer phone calls and respond to emails
  • Schedule appointments and manage the calendar
  • Prepare and send invoices; track payments
  • Organize inspection reports and digital files
  • Assist with client intake and follow-up communications

Marketing Support:

  • Coordinate basic social media posts (using templates)
  • Manage Google Business Profiles and client reviews
  • Help maintain website content (training provided)
  • Track leads and assist with light reporting
  • Prepare outreach materials or emails for partners/referrals

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Comfortable with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar)
  • QuickBooks, Canva, or WordPress experience is a plus
  • Able to manage time independently
  • Prior experience in a support role or small office is a plus
  • Interest in health, environmental science, or home/building services is welcome
