How to test for asbestos
Detection of asbestos in building materials requires collecting and examining air samples using a diaphragm pump with air cassettes. The EPA recommends the number of samples collected per building material.

Our inspectors’ bags, photograph, document each sample he collects and completes’ a chain of custody form. The inspector will draw a map indicating where the samples were collected; and will return the samples with the chain of custody form to the lab for evaluation.
Results take anywhere from 24 hours to three business days to deliver to you, and it takes anywhere from half an hour to three hours to complete an asbestos inspection of a home.

Residential Asbestos Air Test:
The asbestos PCM service call is $360, including three samples, a survey, and a complete report. Each additional sample is $35 per sample. And an asbestos TEM service call is $675 including three samples and $140 for each additional sample. There may be a small one-way trip fee of $0.60/mile if your address is over 20mi from our office. You will be billed by email once the data is ready. The information will be available in two business days. There will be payment options on the invoice for you to choose from. Our office will forward your report after we’ve received payment. We do not perform the abatement as it is a conflict of interest, but we can point you in the right direction if needed.
