How do we collect mold air samples?
Mold in building materials can sometimes be seen or smelled. Using a Bio-Pump Plus, Our inspectors will conduct an indoor and outdoor test for comparison. For visible mold, the inspector will also collect a tape lift sample and perform a moisture level test. Our inspectors’ bags, photograph, document each sample he receives, and complete’ a chain of custody form. The inspector will draw a map indicating where the samples were collected and will return the samples with the chain of custody form to the lab for evaluation.
Results take anywhere from 24 hours to five business days to deliver to you, and it takes anywhere from half an hour to one hour to complete the mold inspection of a home.
Residential Air Awareness Mold Assessments Cost:
The limited mold service call is from $551 (for up to two rooms) and from $694 for a complete mold inspection (checking every room, including the crawl space, attic, as well as the exterior of the home). *Any inspection of a crawl space requires the presence of an individual who will be present directly outside of the crawl space during the entire inspection by the inspector entering the area to provide help in case of an emergency. Each plan includes three samples, an inspection, and a full report. Each additional sample is $70, whether a surface or air sample. The final cost will be determined based on your location from our office. The number and type of additional samples you will need will be determined during the inspection, and the inspector will advise you and get your permission before taking more samples. Please note that air samples require an exterior sample for the baseline and at least one inside sample. A baseline is needed because mold spores are not visible and are part of our ecosystem. Still, mold spores enter your building, and a baseline sample is required to compare the interior levels to the exterior.
Our inspector will visually inspect using a moisture reader, an infrared camera, and a relative humidity meter. Our inspector will look for conditions conducive to mold, such as water damage and intrusion, among other causes of mold growth.
You will be billed by email after we complete our service. The information will be available in 3-5 business days(not including weekends). The invoice will have payment options for you to choose from. Our office will forward your report after we’ve received payment.
